CityVille Barn and CropsI will attempt to list some tips for crops that you might not have tried and should really help out in the long run. When you first start out playing CityVille you are only given 4 plots to do your entire crop growing on until you are able to progress further. Furthermore you only get a small barn to utilize for all your storage needs.

Everything in CityVille is time related and your tasks must be well timed to advance rapidly. So with time being a factor, one of the best crops to start out with are strawberries. This is because they take the least amount of time to mature meaning you get a quick turn-around on your investment. So in a pinch, you can use strawberries to restock on new stuff.

You can try different crops at different times and time them to be ready when you need to load up on goods. In order to tell when your crops will be ready for harvesting just hover over the crops and an indicator will show you the time.

It’s important to know these times. Crops will only stay ripe for harvesting for a certain period of time. Wait too long and they will spoil and your time, effort and energy will all be wasted. Timing is everything. If your crops do spoil you can re-grow on the exact plot of land without wasting any money.

Important CityVille Crop Tip: You can get a neighbor to revive spoiled crops, but you cannot do it yourself. Neighbors are important in many parts of the game.

As far as energy goes, it doesn’t cost you any energy to plant crops, you only lose energy when you harvest them. Also unlike FarmVille you do not have to plow the land to start growing.

Also be sure to follow the in-game tutorial about crops once you are ready to start growing. The first time you plot your land for crops the instructions will pop up. As for any of the tutorials you can save a lot of time just by following the suggestions offered by the game.
